Building Feringa

Groningen University has released a new video showing the progress that is being made in the construction of their new Feringa Building. We designed this new research and education facility to eventually house 1400 RUG students and 850 staff members. It has 64.000 sqm of gross floor area and that will house no less than three kilometres of laboratory benches. The building is composed out of three interconnected V-shaped wings that embrace a large atrium and four courtyard gardens. At the hart of the five-story building, a state-of-the-art research cluster with special ultra low-vibration floors provides space for top notch laboratories and cleanrooms. Other facilities include a congress centre, a restaurant and  a large central atrium with a 420 seat auditorium hidden underneath. Completion of phase one of the Feringa Building is projected at the end of 2023.
