EHA transforms Seeligkazerne Breda

EHA has won the European tender for the transformation of the Breda Seeligkazerne to new educational premises for De Rooi Pannen. The old military station, which is located on the south side of the Breda Centre, has been purchased by the institution and will be transformed into a real campus. The winning multidisciplinary team consisted of EHA, Architectenbureau J. van Stigt, IMd (construction), Valstar Simonis (installations), LBP (building physics) and Buro Sant and Co (landscape design). The most valuable cultural and historical buildings will be reused, some other less attractive ones will demolished. The eighteenth-century Great Arsenal will function as hotel restaurant and becomes practice building for hospitality training. The Small Arsenal is the practical building of Tourism and Recreation and will include a travel agency and a large activity room. In the former main building of this military station the theory departments of both programs will be housed. The site will be redeveloped, which includes the realization of a large event plaza.
