November 2012 The former steel factory in Rotterdam that Ector Hoogstad Architecten turned into a unique office for IMd Engineers is one of the nominees for the Mies van der Rohe Award 2013, the official EU prize for architectural projects. At each two-yearly edition an international network of experts selects five projects in every EU country. The jury then selects two works: one that receives the European Union Prize for Contemporary Architecture in recognition of its conceptual, technical and constructional qualities, and the other that receives the Emerging Architect Special Mention, both in a special ceremony held in the famous Barcelona Pavillion, designed by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe. A set of finalist works will be included in both the Award catalogue and exhibition. For the first time a project by Ector Hoogstad Architecten is nominated for this prestigious award. To (hopefully) be continued!
