January 2014 After a nocturnal transportion the steel lattices of the north facade of the new building for DIFFER have arrived at the construction site on the campus of Eindhoven University of Technology. The transportation took place at night because contractor Dura could only move the middle part (27 meters) of the 45 meter construction by temporarily closing of several intersections and removing obstacles like barriers and streetlights. Meanwhile – even more quikly than expected – the the parts have all been assembled and put into place, revealing an important part of the building’s outline: you can now get a first impression of the dramatically cantilevered north corners of the building mass. The construction of the 12.000 sqm research and office building for the Dutch Institute For Fundamental Energy Research is progressing posperously and will, according to the schedule, be completed at the end of the year.
