September 2012 In Wageningen, Orion, the second educational building on Wageningen University campus, topped out. The nine story building contains educational spaces, labs, a large auditorium and restaurant facilities. It is located between Forum and Atlas, the other two structures in the green heart of the site. During the ceremony Tijs Breukink (chairman of the board) mentioned overseeing the daily progress from his office, noticing his increasing enthusiasm. "It is becoming increasingly clear that the campus will gain a striking enrichment with Orion". "An important milestone has been reached with topping out and we can hardly wait for it to be finished". Director of Heijmans Utiliteitsbouw, Rolf Abbringh, praised the harmony between all stakeholders and made it clear that Orion is a major project for his company as well. Solemn highlight of the day was hoisting the flags of WUR, Ector Hoogstad Architecten, ABT (construction management) and Heijmans. As scheduled the building will be operational after summer next year.
