November 2020 The construction work of NeXt! Delft has started. The building will be built on the south side of the Molengraaffsingel and will be realized in two phases. The building consists of four floors of which the lower two offer additional height for 'makerspace', space in which experiments with innovative technology can be performed. The first floor will contain a combination of makerspace and office space; the top two floors will be dedicated office floors. Centrally located in the building is a spacious atrium, which provides space for informal workplaces and exhibitions. On the south side, the building will have a publicly accessible restaurant facility with an attractive outside terrace. This will undoubtedly become an important new meeting place for the entire campus.
The common areas of the building will offer high-quality facilities for meetings, presentations and informal (group) workplaces. Their atmosphere will be fully in line with the demands of growing tech companies; representative and warm, but with a stubborn edge to it. Creative users will be challenged to actively use the building as a stage or showcase for their products and activities.
The exterior of the building is a meeting of high-tech and simplicity. A metal covering plays a double role as a parapet and sun protection slat, resulting in a characteristic plasticity. The building therefore fits perfectly into the architectural tradition of the campus.
The completion of the first phase (10.000 sqm) is scheduled for February 2022. More information about this project? Visit our projectpage.
