June 2011 Today (June 29th) construction of the Westerlaan Tower in Rotterdam reached its highest point. EHA designed this transformation of the former Van Ommeren (later Vopak) building into a high quality, sustainable and energy-efficient office and housing building. To achieve this, the original building was stripped down to its concrete skeleton. Five new floors were added in a lightweight steel construction. The lower half of the building will again be used as offices, while the upper half will contain luxurious and spatious apartments with large panoramic windows and generous balconies. Also - as of today the model appartment will be open for visits. Check www.westerlaantoren.nl for more information on the project. The building will be completed in February 2012.
