December 2012 Recently the construction of two projects has started: Pop stage ‘De Nobel’ in Leiden and the Montessori College in Nijmegen. Alderman Jan-Jaap de Haan (Culture) and contractor Martijn Du Prie performed the ground-breaking ceremony for De Nobel. The building will contain two halls for pop concerts and a music café, and will be inserted into a historical building block between Marktsteeg and Lange Scheistraat, next to Museum De Lakenhal in Leiden. Parts of the original buildings on the site will be integrated into the new structure. The new home of ‘LVC’ will be completed mid 2014.
At the same time the ceremony for the realisation of the new Montessori College took place in Nijmegen. Balloons marked the new building borders at the construction site. Rector Janneke Stam mentioned the green character of the site and the respectful way it is treated. The green area is the inspiration for the design of the two new buildings, providing a secondary school HAVO/ VWO and VMBO education.
