Visit EHA projects during Construction Day

On Saturday, May 24 2014, there are various construction and infrastructure projects to visit, including two projects of EHA; The Montessori Child Centre Mozaik in Dordrecht and DIFFER in Eindhoven.

Special in the design of Montessori Child Centre Mozaik is that it doesn’t look like a traditional school. It is also described as a 'villa for children’. Everywhere, inside as well as outside, small architectural details provide subtle vistas, places to sit or platforms for overviews. A rather "serious" looking building turns out to be one big playground. Completion is scheduled for June 2014 .

DIFFER (Dutch Institute for Fundamental Energy Research) moves  to a new building on the campus of the Technical University of Eindhoven. The structure of the design is straightforward: around two major experimental halls will arise a three-layer ring of offices and support spaces. Between the halls, and in the extension of one of the main sight lines on the campus, are common features such as conferencing, eating and relaxing situated. For DIFFER is to encourage encounter between employees and with visitors essential. Therefore, the floors are in many places connected by stairs and voids.
As might be expected of an institution that deals with renewable energy there is on all fronts focus on sustainable design. By completion in February 2015 DIFFER will be the first laboratory building in the Netherlands with a BREEAM Excellent rating.
