World’s largest bicycle parking nominated at the MIPIM Awards

World’s largest bicycle parking is nominated at the MIPIM Awards in the best mixed use development category.
The project has been selected over a list of more than 200  entries from 58 different countries. The project is the centre piece of an urban redevelopment that reconnects the enlarged railway station to the historic city centre of Utrecht. Underneath an iconic canopy an elevated and revitalized public space welcomes visitors. By rigidly reorganizing logistics and banning most car accesses on ground level, a spacious green pedestrian boulevard could be created – aligned with new mixed-use buildings- which allows a direct route from the city’s cathedral to its’ cultural center. In the middle of the boulevard, underneath the elevated square, a three story bicycle park for over 12,500 bikes announces a future of sustainable mobility.
MIPIM Cannes is the world’s leading property exhibition and will take place from 13 – 16 March 2018.  Around 23,000 people are expected to attend during the intensive four-day MIPIM program. The winners will be announced during the prestigious MIPIM Awards Ceremony which will take place on Thursday 14 March, 2018 at 18.30 in the Grand Auditorium of the Palais des Festivals, Cannes.
